Today marks the beginning of the seventh year.

Hard to believe what began on April Fools Day 2009 as a 100-day, self imposed, kick-your-butt writer’s bootcamp has blossomed into something remarkably different.

Honestly didn’t think it would last 100 days.

Maybe it was the sheer magnitude of the impossibility that allowed writing five daily, differently-themed blogs to succeed.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reach high enough.

This may be terminal

(photo: Note the upper right corner time 8:23am… some see a new OS as uncomfortable change. Others see it as exciting change.)

Half-full or half-empty is up to us to say.

There are three types of writing maladies:

  1. Writer’s block, the most common
  2. Writer’s flood, very rare
  3. Writer’s tsunami, exceptionally rare

And what one sees as a disease, another sees as a gift.

The gift of having writer’s flood is anticipated to take on new, uncharted meaning beginning today, because of the impending tsunami.

The official announcement two days ago, the impending promotion, and the new set of rules – this may be terminal.

The ability to look back, look forward – and enjoy them both

Giraffes
Looking ahead, looking back – simultaneously

Yesterday came and went in the blink of an eye. Like they all do.

The paradox of writing 100 days ahead?

Seeing the momentous once-in-a-life occasions mixed with the yearly seasonal milestones:

  • Tomorrow is the Summer Solstice (again) – June 21.
  • Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of beginning a full time Disney Career – September 27.

Digging the ability to look back, look forward – and enjoy them both right here, right now.

Rejoice in the struggle?

Church message
Rejoice in everything: our struggles, our demons, our awareness, our victories

Dear son, honestly never thought your dad would make it 100 consecutive days writing five daily blog posts about Life’s Big Choices.

Never thought he’d abandon drinking everyday either.

Crazy what motivation and purpose does to help one become decently organized.

motivation is as motivation does

Motivation is as motivation does.

And life is art.

And we are the artist.

There are very few people who understand and fully appreciate the motivation – and even more remarkably, the ability to deliver every single day – to never miss a day doing their art.

Find a million ways to stay motivated.

And a million ways to do what we say we’re gonna do.
