Knowing the truth is dangerous

HP Instant Ink program
HP knows when i need new ink cartridges. i never have to worry about it. Ever. They simply mail them just before i run out.

Homeowner meeting sign
Yesterday this sign went up at our neighborhood entrance. Had completed the form a week ago, but forgot to drop it off. So i took a photo (further down) of the form and emailed it last night. Email would have been a great choice from the start, no?

Pat Sajak
From a TV recording last night. Jungle Pat (Sajak) at the World Famous Jungle Cruise – they were filming here (WDW) the past week.

homeowner picnic form
We were asked to drop it off in the homeowner mailbox, rather than mail it…this saved everyone 50-cents.

ATT notice
Password required? Somehow the stored password wasn’t working and i had created a safari-generated password so i had no idea what it was when i was asked to login last night. i fixed it the old-fashioned way – i created my own..

Knowing the truth is dangerous because once you know the architecture for being organized, you have no good excuse for not being organized.

You have to change if the way you’re currently living is in stark contrast to what it takes to live an organized life.

My clock is ticking.

__________

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Telling the truth is art

Art on Orange County Government building wall
In the Orange County Public hearing room, hung works of art, like this painting.

Telling the truth is art.

On the way home from the public hearing yesterday, a Consultant friend (and former Disney colleague) called asking for advice. i pulled over and enabled hands-free conversation and then resumed the drive on Interstate 4.

One of the things Betsy said she counts on from me is that she always knows i will tell the truth. She really needs the truth as she is about to make life-altering decisions. Decisions that are not easy, and that don’t come with any guarantee.

Leadership talk is cheap

Disney Conference Speaker
Laura’s actions, nearly 500 pages of notes in less than one year.

Leadership talk is cheap. Everyone knows this.

So what makes a leader believable?

First clue, it ain’t talk.

Lies

Disney Institute Sponsorship Program AV Check
Disney Institute Sponsorship Program AV Check, near Houston, two months before retiring.

To everyone who has ever dejectedly said to themselves, “Never in a million years”…

Totally get it.

It’s okay.

No really.

It is.

At some point, wouldn’t it be great to no longer believe it?

Boldness has genius.

Created a (writing) challenge that seemed impossible, and was a last ditch effort to silence the echo of, “Never in a million years”.

One hundred days was an insane goal.

Could a person be organized enough to make it happen?

No way it would ever work.

But what if i could just focus doing it one day at a time?

Just worry about today.

Today.

And tomorrow, do it again.

And then a miracle happened, one day at a time grew and grew.

It grew from unexpectedly reaching 100 days to…. 2,190… and counting…

Today is the final day of the sixth consecutive year of daily blogging.

Five differently themed blog posts.

365 x 6 years = 2,190

Just  a thought, no, a wish really – for you…

Please consider rethinking how you want to destroy, “Not in a million years”.
