You were born to play

Literally every speech i deliver involves a selfie-moment. Over-focused so the audience has a tangible memory of the event. Work feels like play. This is a risk i took at TEDx AUK.

We experience time three ways:

  1. anticipate (future)
  2. activate (present)
  3. reflect (past)

Our perception of time is an unfocused mix of now, later, and gone.

Until we can unravel our own distractions and sabotage, we will never learn to live presently, mindfully, and peacefully.

We are born to play. It’s how we learn.

When we stop playing, we stop learning.

Goals are everything

What do you know about goals, goal setting, and goal achieving? Can you teach it?

Without goals, you cannot prioritize your activities nor can you manage your time effectively.

Year

Hidden Lake, and Bearhat Mountain over our shoulders.

Here’s a train of thought for the new decade that begins in three days:

  • Moment
  • Hour
  • Day
  • Week
  • Month
  • Quarter
  • Year
  • Decade
  • Life

If Disney Ran Your Life, you learn to instinctively over-focus on the same things you used to under-focus on or ignore.

You learn to be intentional where you used to be unintentional.

The power that a decision we make in a year has the power to grow and influence by the decade and beyond.

Did Bob see it coming?

Did Bob Iger see it coming?

Time businessperson of the year?

Disney, the epitome of world-class organizational standards, at one time had overwhelming challenges with the Animation division.

As animation goes, so goes our Company.

Just finished watching Waking Sleeping Beauty on Disney +.

Even today, without a hands-down CEO successor, you’ve got to know there are issues as this is typed.

And yet, despite that, Disney and Bob Iger excel.

Which way should you go?

Which way should you go?

It’s simple, for high performers anyway, go the long way.

The long way is the shortcut.

PS. Could we use our same strengths (Habit, dialogue, consistency, etc) that created negative habits (overeating, giving up on being organized, etc) to reverse engineer our lives to an approach mindset?
