Maturely invigorating

motivational words
University of Oregon (see upper right team name) sports complex window says it all. Know why you exist. Do what it takes to bring honor and glory to why you exist. i promised our son a Disney Business resource library of seven topics, authored by yours truly.

Only a few days into reviving a multi-year shelved project, the renewed excitement is maturely invigorating. No worries about making money, Amazon Page rank, or going viral. This is a beautiful place to be.

Why am I working so hard?

Man sitting in an office laughing
Smile and have fun at work – you spend your life there. Always feel blessed to do what you get to do. PS. If we weren’t all crazy, we’d all go insane. -Jimmy Buffett

Your culture should support the question all employees consistently ask throughout their Disney career, “Why am I doing all this hard work?” The self-evident, self-revealed answer? “Because our culture is worth defending.”

DAPM to DASTE

Disney University is neighbors with Holiday Services. Disney University was Disney Institute’s (DI) original home until the construction boom brought on by Michael Eisner and Frank Wells, in the late 1980’s. Now DI is based in Celebration, Florida, adjacent to southern Walt Disney World.

Disney Institute now calls DAPM, DASTE – Disney’s Approach to Selection, Training and Engagement. From DAPM, Communication and Care merged to form Engagement.

Cultural ripple effect

This “scrim” is a feature that covers the scaffolding being used to enhance the Show. The clock is a print and the time never changes.

Culture’s five pillars – leaders, employees, customers, reputation, improvement – all benefit when one pillar is improved. Neglect any pillar, the other four suffer.

Carrying small Disney toys when traveling is a habit, maybe even a super-power.

Habits are evolutionary methods for us to reduce decision fatigue, avoid dangerous situations, and react to unplanned opportunity or threat, to facilitate our survival.
