Best time to worry at home

Home is your HQ. You are the CEO of You, Inc.

Home may be an apartment, condo, a backpack, RV, boat, car, bike, or an actual home.

How you manage the paperwork of life depends on your effectiveness as the Chief Executive of your home’s structure and processes.

The time to worry is well before the unending paperwork of life buries you.

Become well-organized. Simplify. Reduce decision fatigue. Prioritize your priorities and build your home’s organizational structure and processes around maximizing results and minimizing effort.

Or, become unintentionally and increasing more disorganized. If you don’t have time to do things right the first time, you will never find time to do it right the second time. This poor habit of unintentionally (under-focusing) goes viral and there’s no stopping it from ruining your mindset, your physical vibrancy, your peace and contentment, and your valuable work artistry. Victim-mentality is the common excuse for a disorganized, non-vibrant life.

Birds of a feather flock together.

Soar. Don’t waddle.

Live like you mean it. Life is not a dress rehearsal.

When you are organized

Mt Reynolds
Mt Reynolds. An angle that is less viewed. A side of Mt Reynolds that i stood at from the hike 99.99% never take.

When you are organized you rarely need to panic.

In fact, you may delight in your freedom from panic.

To be clear, panic’s magnetic force will tempt you, but you will take a deep breath and realize you are in a good place.

Being highly organized at home is great for everyday living. And it is exceptional for “life’s unexpected bad weather”.

If Disney Ran Your Life, you are well prepared for everything, even things that may never happen, or things that only happen every 10-20 years.

Organize now for the end

Dana (left) and Christopher Reeve. Young Will just getting started. i met and hosted them four years later (and two years after Christopher’s accident) at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Hospice nurses often list five emotional tasks for the end of life:

  1. thank you
  2. I love you
  3. please forgive me
  4. I forgive you
  5. goodbye.

Why wait until it’s literally a breath away from too late?

Yesterday Chapin and i spent an hour at the bank proactively arranging financial accounts more effectively. Cheryl was at Walt Disney World helping Mickey and the gang.

John F. Kennedy is credited with saying…

The time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining.

None of today’s posts are about being perfect, but every one of them is about being excellent.

Be prepared

Walking through neighborhood with headlamp. The small and lightweight lamp is as bright as a car headlight.

With the recent “fall back” clock change, our morning walks are in the dark. Our subdivision has no street lights.

One especially dark morning, the idea was born to wear the headlamp.

The headlamp was purchased in Glacier National Park and carried daily in the pack.

Never expected to be hiking in the dark.

Which is why it was carried daily all Summer.

Pack as light as possible, but what happens if you unexpectedly find yourself in an unexpected situation?
