Dripping wet and out of focus

Spider web dripping in morning dew

Being too disorganized ensures we never have time for introspection. And introspection is the only way for us to organize our thoughts, dreams, and priorities.

An ordinary spider web. Typical morning dew in the North Carolina Mountains.

But if we were thirsting in a dry, barren desert, we’d tenderly figure out a way to get that dew into our mouths without missing one precious drop. The stickiness of the web would be the last thing on our mind.

As we rush through today, may we find small, tender moments to drink from the present moment, whatever those circumstances offer.

Yesterday was more overwhelming than normal. Three long travel days. A pile of important things were due.

Luckily there was an understanding colleague, amped up tenacity, guts, and (a trained eye for) observation.

Wow.

Know the feeling?

It’s those wonderful moments when the world is crashing down on us, but we ride the wave and come out on the other end still standing, fist in the air and shouting for joy.

The woman in the jungle jeff post seemed to feel like she was thinking about things she normally doesn’t (and maybe hasn’t in forever) think about.

How do I know? This is what I do. Read the audience. Whether it’s a CEO during a site visit, or an audience of 500 or more.

It seemed uncomfortable for her. Early 40’s, hates her job, no compelling reason to be remarkable tomorrow or in any of the days, months, years ahead.

She has two choices. Be incredibly thankful a total stranger helped her think these thoughts, or label the stranger an egotistical jerk who should just worry about himself.
