How does your desk look right now?

Screen shot of Judi Glickman’s LindedIn Learning yesterday.

How does your desk look right now?

Mine?

Yes?

Couple of piles.

Couple more piles on the floor too.

Not proud of this.

Piles drag me down. Piles drag everyone down.

Find a million ways to stay motivated to eliminate your piles.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re to reaching high enough.

Quickbooks revelation

First view coming out of the tunnel.
Ptarmigan Tunnel hike view after passing through the tunnel. The posts from that day didn’t share many scenic photos.
On left edge you spot two people about to go back through the tunnel to the Swiftcurrent (southern) side.
Hiked to there, about one mile from where i’m taking this photo.
The path down, and North, has a rock wall ledge (left) for maybe 100 meters.
Cloudy skies conceal much of the rocks energy. When the sun breaks through, magnificently different.
Ahern Glacier (left) and Old Sun Glacier (right) on the top horizon. Only visible as i walked well past the tunnel exit.
About to head south and back to Swiftcurrent Motor Inn.

The paperwork of life is a challenge.

Add a small business’s paperwork on top of your life’s paperwork and you have a perfect storm for daily overwhelm.

Quickbooks for self-employed people is a perfect tool for putting structure and process in place.

Yesterday while preparing for year-end closure and a new year income tax filing, i discovered that business expenses under $75 do not need a receipt.

While i have digital/photo receipts for everything, finding them is a different story.

This significantly helped me get completely caught up for YTD FY 2019.

The paperwork of life doesn’t care about your comfort

Disney High School Marching Band
Can you imagine coordinating the travel and safety logistics for 200 high schoolers, their uniforms and instruments, and managing the parent’s expectations, not to mention Disney’s expectations?

The paperwork of life doesn’t care about your comfort.

Never has.

Never will.

No one else will care about it either.

So it’s 100% your responsibility to get really good at it.

Best wishes.

And then there’s the paperwork of life

And then there’s the paperwork of life.

Went outside yesterday (a Saturday) to get some fresh air from a long work day. Yes, the weekends aren’t immune from work, even when you’re the boss and “control” how and when work gets done.

Our landscape maintenance crew’s mower broke down Tuesday at our house and they promised to return Friday. They didn’t make it Friday, nor yesterday. i walk outside and spent two hours pulling weeds.

i’ve been to the mountain top

Speaker Ready room at Orlando Ritz Carlton
Less than 24 hours ago. i was directed to the wrong end of the Ritz to find our conference room. This allowed the opportunity to discover one of the nicest “Greenrooms” i’ve ever seen.
Speaker Ready Room, for the other conference – the one that occupied all the meeting rooms but one. Talk about posh.

i’ve been to the mountain top.

And i’ve seen the promised land.

January is always an active month for doing another round of downsizing the paperwork of life.

Excited to attack a few piles of Disney and Disney Institute memorabilia (95% work related stuff).

Getting these piles off the floor will feel like freedom.

Free at last.

Has a nice ring to it.
