Keep moving forward

Walking quickly to compensate for the stationary time with the goats, almost sped past here, but didn’t. Do you see the hidden Mickey (from yesterday)?

Amazing (to me) that the flowers have turned to face the sunrise. Last night they faced the sunset. Remarkable.

The back-to-back sunrise summits and descents are designed to familiarize the hike leader with a trail that is not obvious.

The descent took and hour, counting stops.

Stopped by Cabin 20 to drop off a small backpack.

The other half of my luggage (left) and trash/recyclables from a three-week rental.

The building’s rear. Yesterday.

The build’s front.

Inside, from my chair.

Team photo last night, 9:00PM.

Back deck photo, 9:30 PM.

Back deck photo from 6:00 AM this morning.

Son, life as a small business owner with a global reach is challenging when internet access is virtually non-existent.

Used the public library for three hours until they closed at 4:00 PM.

Then sat in the rental car in the grocery store parking lot for 2.5 more hours because the Verizon signal was strong there.

The ATT signal was 2 bars and Verizon was 4.

Having two phones and two carriers is one of “a million” ways i over-focus.

Son, embrace over-focusing and create your own unique structure and processes to get and stay decently organized.

The road to excellence has no finish line.

Called it off

Instead of another hike i stopped at almost every pullover, something i rarely do.
The road is virtually deserted after 7:30 PM.
St . Mary Lake looking East and the West end of the Great Plains.
Good night (again) Wild Goose Island.

Called it off last night for the same reasons as the night before.

Thought a 90-minute earlier start would solve for my anxieties.

Half-a-mile in i knew it was too risky to do solo.

Mt. Oberlin is an obscure hike because there’s no sign and you must step over the “keep off” chain.

On yesterday’s solo Oberlin summit and back, i saw four people.

It’s a dangerous hike for tourists.

It’s an even worse place to fall because there’s no foot traffic to notice.

After being the first one up yesterday morning, i had the notion to do it for sunset.

After deciding no, i drove down and went to bed early.

It was tempting to do Hidden Lake again, especially after that Magical evening.

Heading out the door at 5:45 AM to do it again before exchanging rental cars at the airport.

Celebrate your organization

Just as it was time to return to Logan Pass, these Mountains Goats and i met.
Solitude offered this incredibly personal experience.
Good night Wild Goose Island.

Celebrate your organization?

Sure.

Celebrate your work place?

Sure.

Yes, and.

Son, celebrate your personal organization. Enjoy all your efforts to be decently organized with the paperwork of life.

HQ = the in-box of life

Make a wish. The wisp floated into the car while i was typing.
The Hidden Lake Trail was perfect for recording marketing videos, but the microphone wasn’t working properly. Ordered a new one when i came down from the Mountains.
Pool app not working and i’m certain it’s something the pool tech simply needs to turn back on after servicing the equipment.
Driving “home” to Rising Sun Motor Inn after a long day at a Wi-Fi hotspot in St. Mary Lodge.
Yes, this is from the 6-mile drive West from St. Mary to Rising Sun.
Less than 24 hours after upgrading my 8-gig plan to unlimited, I lost the personal hotspot ability. Kevin reinstated the original plan. Back to being able to tether other devices.
That’s a lot of data.

The photo captions capture and chronicle the paperwork of life that crossed my desk yesterday.

Of course there’s more than highlighted here, and that’s the point.

Spent six hours sitting inside getting caught up with my business administrative tasks.

The good news is:

  • The Wi-Fi i discovered is awesome.
  • The wind was too dangerous to be hiking in.
  • i am back at the same place today making continuous progress.
  • This morning was windy and cold – great rational for being inside.

All by yourself

Logan Pass parking lot at 8:30 PM last night. Going-To-The-Sun Mountain.
Dreamt of seeing this “planet of snow” with my own eyes.
Last night i was able to stop on Sun Road without worry of a car behind me.
Embarrassed yet grateful to discover an easy solution. Seems silly i never knew.

All by yourself can be glorious.

Had Sun Road to myself.

And Logan Pass.

And Wild Goose Island.

And, because our Son flew home yesterday, the hotel room.

In the silence i discovered the most remarkable (and embarrassing) tech solution.

With the touch of one setting, i enabled cellular data to upload photos.

Thought wifi was the only option.

Note: In 4.5 hours, 150 photos and videos uploaded while i slept. Had i done this on day one, the day at the library wouldn’t have happened.
