Suomi

Met Yuri, 18, a Finnish Ski Jumper and watched the ski jumpers practice for about an hour. Yuri began jumping at age nine. He was very friendly, and humble.

Afterwards, I hiked to the top. All these Suomi flowers were along the path. Suomi means Finland.

Yes, the last picture is from halfway up the steps beneath the middle ski ramp. I was about as high as the top of the shortest ramp, which you can see to the left in the final photo. Very high indeed.

Oh Say Can You Ski…

…by the dawn’s early light.

Cut. Wait a minute. What are you talking about?  Is this the National anthem or the  Ski Jump Capital of the world.

I’m guessing Ski Jump capital .  Seriously.  Way seriously.

Yesterday was an “off day” at World’s, meaning no competitions were held. So, I made the most of it.  Check it out:

Know What All These Blogs Have in Common?

What do Lane 8.org, Mid Life Celebration.com, jungle jeff.net, jeff noel.org all have one thing in common?

Together, they form the foundation for the story I’m writing.

Similarly to the way Randy Pausch wrote, The Last Lecture , for his young children. I am writing for our son.

And no story is complete, in my opinion, without pictures:

Finland Photos

Finland photos. Trying this again. If you’re new here, welcome. If you’re a regular, thanks for coming back.

You may already know this.  You can click on each photo to enlarge and read a brief description not shown on this page.

Thank you for your patience. I may open a Flickr account to make posting photos easier. I post them on Facebook for Family & Friends, but for the world’s audience, that isn’t practical.
Make it a GREAT day.  It’s up to you.  Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂

jeff noel now on Facebook

jeff noel is now on Facebook.

Like yesterday’s post about joining Twitter a few days ago, last night I joined Facebook.

So?

Exactly.

It means nothing to some and to others, it means I’m embracing the future.

The future isn’t going to wait because we aren’t ready.

It’s coming at us like a freight train.

Whether we seize the day or not, the day still comes and goes.

Before we know it, we could be on our death bed.  Seriously.

I don’t live with the fear of dying.

I live with the fear of not fully living.

Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

PS.  It’s not even 7:00AM yet, and this is my 5th blog post this morning.  I’m not bragging, nor am I making any excuses, about what I do.  I just do it and if you want to criticise me or cheer for me, the choice is yours

The choice is always ours, isn’t it.  Particularly when it comes to our attitude.

Carpe diem,  jeff noel 🙂
