Positive home accidents

jeff noel and Mickey Mouse
Possibly from my final year (2014) at Disney.

Positive home accidents (mistakes).

The biggest unintentional accident you will ever make at home is allowing yourself to live an unorganized life.

Anxiety stems from neglect.

Neglect stems from being disorganized.

The greatest intentional accident you will ever make at home is allowing yourself to live an organized life.

If Disney Ran Your Life, you would run a world-class, time-tested, highly efficient and effective home.

Why?

If you need an explanation, you will never understand.

The greater of two fears

GNP
GNP. Organized my personal and home life so i could do this bicycle ride to Logan Pass before Sun Road opened for the 2018 season.

My fear of regret is greater than my fear of failure.

Great news: Kids are not afraid of failing

We weren’t afraid to fail as a child.

Now look at us.

If you’re not prepared to fail, you’ll never create anything original.

As you age, you lose the appetite, and the capacity, to be wrong.

My 72-hour challenge to you is simple. Attempt something that will probably fail, but your failure will get you closer than you were before.

And on the off-chance that you don’t fail…congratulations.

Now keep repeating this process.

You’re welcome.

Sir, i’m sorry but you’re going to have to leave

Disney Keynote Speaker
Gambled that i’d be the only one on the back wall if i simply opened the door and walked in. i was correct.

Michael Jr and jeff noel
Michael Jr initiated the photo opportunity. i simply piggy-backed on his first move.

We reversed the roles.

Disney Keynote Speaker
This young man witnessed the interaction with Michael Jr becasue he was there to drive me to the airport – i carved out time to mentor this college sophomore who wants to eventually work for Disney. We talked on the drive and at the airport Starbucks.

Three quick photos. Different angles. Looking at things differently helps you to .think .differently

My peripheral vision detected a person approaching me as a stood against the back wall watching Michael Jr speak..

Sir, i’m sorry but you’re going to have to leave.

Nope.

She didn’t say that.

She asked if i’d like to join her and her group.

Saw the last 30 minutes guilt free.

As i waited in the lobby for a ride to the airport, Michael Jr. and i had a chance to talk just before he drove to his next gig in Chicago.

PS. During Michael Jr’s speech, i got a little teary-eyed trying to comprehend Melissa’s generosity. Her invitation to stay blew my mind.

Today’s posts could be a mistake to publish

Today’s posts could be a mistake to publish.

You know, a strength overused becomes a liability.

A glaring blind spot for the perpetrator (me).

That said, here’s my bottom line…

There is no progress without failure…

No forward movement of society without making many uncomfortable…

No boundary expanded by playing it safe…

And when your time on earth has run out, no second chance to take the risks you wished you had taken.

Shouda, woulda, coulda.

Don’t die with regret.

Die with failure – and what you learned and taught from it – but please don’t die with regret.
