Will this ever become The Disney Way speaking website?

Steve Jobs unveils the iPhone
In watching the first iPhone announcement, was struck by Steve’s water bottle and his constant talking with his hands.

Will this ever become The Disney Way speaking website?

Yes, no, and maybe.

It will always be the HQ for Life’s Five Big Choices.

i will always be a Disney Way keynote speaker.

Maybe there is room for both.

The funny thing about being brave is that there is no template. Read into that any way you want. Big picture, you can do anything and you can do it anyway you want.

The downside is you might, um, will probably, um, might fail. (i did, repeatedly)

The upside is you might succeed – but only if you want to succeed as much as you want your next breath. (i am, finally)

Organize like you mean it: You fail if you don’t get really good at failing

It’s a huge campus for approx 1,400 ninth graders

Trying a crazy idea on for size and discovering it’s too small or too big is a gift.

Not trying is the quickest way to drive yourself insane.

Plus, the more you fail, the less failure feels uncomfortable.

Fail frequently. Fail better.

Failure, the gift that keeps on giving.

Thank goodness.

Predictable failure?

We apologize for ruining your big dreams. You simply aren’t motivated enough to figure it out.

It is insanely challenging to keep up with everything. And then we tack on a New Year’s resolution without letting go of some other time consuming habit.

Predictable failure?

Be organized enough to fail

Walt Disney quote about ideas

(photo: Focus and discipline help overcome the fundamental resistance to change.)

The small cost of failing is cheap compared to the huge cost of not trying.

Launch, learn, revise.

Repeat.

Here’s why we fail

Holy Family Catholic Church stage

(photo: The road to heck is paved with good intentions.)

Here’s why we fail.

We tell people what we’re gonna do and our brain sends endorphins out, making us feel good about our bold plan to change or create.

We like this.

In fact, we dig the way we feel from these bold proclamations.

And then we fail.

We fail because talk is cheap.

Please don’t tell us what you’re going to do.

Tell us after you’ve done it.

Not a minute before.

Why?

Because you can’t say you did something if you haven’t.

But anyone can make a great claim to change.

So predictable.

And boring, and tiring, and well, you know.

Try it next time you want to kick your butt about that big thing you’ve always wanted to do.

And watch how it changes you.

PS. Congratulations in advance.
