Make It Simple

Like we were back in college

Highland Trail hike
Wow.

Highland Trail hike
The easy part was ridiculously easy.

Sun is going down.

Looking East, Logan Pass parking lot is almost empty at 8pm.

Two Dog Flats
Brief drive just past Rising Sun to Two Dog Flats for a quick try at bear spotting.

Dinner at Logan Pass last night included leftovers from lunch (at Swiftcurrent) and other items we purchased the day we arrived but hadn’t yet touched. It was nice to have the spontaneity to improvise. This wouldn’t have happened had we not been decently organized.

Jokers Are Wild

Now that’s one helluva dream if we got a do-over at college

Recently watched some end-of-the-College-year packing up as the school year cameo an end and students are preparing for their drive home. It was different watching it this time for some reason. i witnessed so many trips from their apartments to their cars. So much stuff.

i was that person. You may have been too.

Most college students go through this ritual.

But what if?

What if all we needed was a Macbook (or iPad), iPhone, headphones, and a few clothing essentials – a pair of good running shoes, two pairs of jeans, two pairs of jean shorts, seven t-shirts, one sweatshirt. Five pairs of running shorts and five pairs of socks. Toiletries. A frisbee. A small backpack for campus, and a larger backpack to carry everything home and back to school. Two washable water bottles. First aid kit. Lighter.

Our books could be digital.

Our meals could be provided.

Our snacks wouldn’t require cooking (or cooking utensils).

Travel light.

Now that’s one helluva dream if we got a do-over at college, knowing then what we now now.

Packing up was easy. And without the books and food i traveled with going up, coming back was even lighter.

A light load makes the journey easier.

The journey is more focused too, because there’s less stuff.

We know this.

A Casual Walk Across Utah’s Dixie State College Campus Revealed Many Hidden Gems

A casual walk across Dixie State College's campus revealed many hidden gems.
Looking closely, the book's title is: Getting To Know The Real You
Upper left; "Today Is The Greatest Day Of My Life"
Warrior or winner, the ethos is identical.
Only pessimists say attitude is over rated.
Interesting, but not sure I buy it.
Just a little lower...

More Ovaltine Please?

“More Ovaltine please”?  A classic commercial tag line from American television and radio.

More Ovaline?  No.

More pictures and You Tube videos please.  I hear ya.  I’m with ya.  Busy.  Man, am I busy!

All good things take time.  Which is why I give myself some credit for coming so far in only six months.

Six months?  Well, writing consistently for six months.

The actual vision for doing this started about 30 years ago in college.  That’s a tale for another time (maybe).
