Clutter and indecision

Glacier national Park
GNP. Lake Sherburn. Grinnell Point and Many Glacier in background.

Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams. Appreciate your materials things, and learn to reduce, reuse, recycle, or trash what doesn’t bring you joy. Clutter and indecision destroy peace and contentment.

Shedding is cathartic

dumpster full of chain link fence debris
The 20-year-old chain link fence is going to fence heaven. Yesterday morning.

20 yard dumpster
Filled the 20-yard dumpster.

Waste management dumpster
The crew of four did in half a day what would have taken me a week (or longer) to do as a do-it-yourselfer.

pressure washing sidewalk
Pressure washing our entrance sidewalk last night.

Shedding is cathartic.

i believe stress is insidiously induced by clutter and “what-if-i-need-this-someday”.

Why?

Because shedding makes me come alive.

The margin (breathing room) shedding creates is inspiring.

Clutter steals our balance

Starbucks food display
Cluttered but organized.

Clutter steals our balance.

When we buy too many things to make our lives more abundant (or organized), we are actually creating more work for ourselves.

Things need care, cleaning, insuring, protecting, storing, etc.

We won’t see the truth in this until we are older and have accumulated more than we can handle.

By then it may be too late to change, right?

Clutter kills our home

Inspirational thought about happiness
Last night before bed, from Facebook.

Clutter kills our home.

Stuff is important.

Stuff is unimportant.

This is why we keep so much of it – because we can’t tell the difference.

Deadly.

Seriously.

Our stuff silently robs us of our time, energy, and joy.

One ordinary day after another.
