Life without a direct challenge?

Opening speaker, David Rowan.

Life without a direct challenge?

As a speaker, long ago it became obvious (to me) that not challenging your audience to do something great is a missed opportunity (obligation).

When Your Life Changes

In the moments when you think the world needs to change

Top Disney Keynote Speakers
The young man hugging me is now much taller than me. And the woman on the left is still the best part of life.

There’ve been inspiring stories coming from the Winter Olympics the past few days.

And yesterday’s tragic story at a South Florida High School.

i just want you to know i’m purposefully not writing about them because i would rather talk about inspiration and challenge from a much smaller corner of the world – my world.

Just one person, striving to live each day like i mean it.

In my own small, inspiring, and sometimes confused and challenged world.

In the moments when you think the world needs to change…

Start with yourself.

You have plenty to work with.

And if you start today, maybe you’ll be finished before you die.

Dear Son

Just because it’s difficult

motivational saying
Start with self. Do this to yourself, for yourself.

Just because it’s difficult is no reason to quit.

In fact, it’s the perfect reason to double down on your efforts.

Because it’s tough is exactly why we have no choice but to press on.

Fanatical

i’m not here to tell you you need to change

LinkedIn status update with Ghandi quote
Top update…The timing of yesterdays LinkedIn update was wonderful.

My top priority yesterday was to have the entire room .think .differently

Ghandi said something similar, years before yesterday’s speech:

A principle is a principle and in no case can it be watered down because of our incapacity to live it in practice. We have to strive to achieve it, and the striving should be conscious, deliberate, and hard.

After a lifetime of being addicted to quotes, i rarely use quotes anymore. Yet this one is part of the reason the word exception was created.

Push the boundary of embarrassment

Orlando Best Professional Speakers

(photo: Who’s looking over your shoulder?)

(Update March 7, 2015… rereading this now, after writing it 100 days ago, it feels awkward…gonna keep it as is for posterity. They say boldness has genius. It’s also far too easy to crash and burn. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.)

Orlando based (retired Disney) motivational keynote speaker. One million+ people globally.

Flying solo.

Retired to put a dent in the Universe by helping you:

  • Live like you mean.
  • Lead like you mean it.
  • Serve like you mean it.

To challenge you to choose between a life of obligation or a life of apathy.

To challenge you to become an example rather than a warning to the people you care about most.

In exchange for leading The Movement (Mid Life Celebration), MLC will donate profits to the good folks searching for a cure.

Remarkable keynote speakers, the ones that challenge everything, well, yeah, we need more of that.

Thirty years at Disney, the past 15 speaking for Disney Institute. Both coasts. Every imaginable industry.

Close enough to Walt-Disney-crazy to be bestowed not one, but two Disney Lifetime achievement awards.

Walt asked his associates simple questions. Compelling questions.

The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree, eh?

Pop quiz…

Are you satisfied?

(good for you if you are… hope it lasts)

And if you aren’t, who’s responsible?

Seriously.

How challenging is it to find someone trustworthy?

Someone to help you change things your culture allows to happen.

Culture is tricky.

It’s what we think and do, without thinking.

Habits.

Long term, deeply embedded habits.

Unintentional.

Reality.

Our default becomes the standard.

Scary.

The good news? There’s a success formula for operationalizing your habits for excellence.

But you’ll have to reach higher, think deeper, care more, and work harder than ever.

Speaking, consulting, coaching.

Helping people and organizations solve their unsolvables.

You’re welcome.
