Blog anniversary (not) in GNP, home

i have no idea how an impossible 2009 April Fools Day, 100-day self-imposed writer’s bootcamp challenge morphed into the start of a 16th consecutive year in 2024.

It’s not impossible that i write five daily, differently-themed blog posts until the day i die.

This website is about our HOME. This is the fifth of five daily, differently-themed blog posts about: (1) mind, (2) body, (3) spirit, (4) work, (5) home. To return to Mid Life Celebration, the site about MIND, click here.

Happy 28th HQ anniversary

Yep.

Bought our lot in 1990, moved into our present home on January 25, 1992. Happy 28th.

Revisiting yesterday’s leadership train of thought about my top values.

Here’s a list i began teaching our son in 2004-ish. This list began in 2002 with one value, honesty. Numbers two, three, and four were added when sleepovers became a thing in 2005-ish. Initiative added a couple years later. Fun added somewhere 2016-ish.

  1. Honesty
  2. Behave admirably
  3. Personal responsibility
  4. Self-control
  5. Initiative
  6. Fun
  7. (Bonus) Contribution (June 2019)

No one even remotely thought we’d ever be a couple

Last night in the Gulf of Mexico.

No one even remotely thought we’d ever be a couple.

Not in a million years.

None of your friends.

None of mine.

As colleague Resident Advisors on Ramsey Hall’s co-ed (every other room) 6th (top) floor, we both were involved with the person we thought we’d marry. You, even to the point of being engaged.

Turns out we became best friends unintentionally.

The rest as they say, is history.

History, glorious history.

Multiple opportunities for rebirth?

jeff noel blog post excerpt
Anyone can find and share anything – Google insures this. Anyone thinking there are exceptions is mislead.

Yesterday (June 17) Cheryl closed on the sale of the house her Mother has lived n for 91 years. Quite an extraordinary accomplishment – the 91 years part, not the closing.

But the closing signifies a letting go and moving forward.

An opportunity for rebirth.

Tomorrow (September 27) marks the official 30th (unofficial was January 25) anniversary as a full-time employee at Orlando’s biggest entertainment company and one of the most admired (#7 on the 2014 list) companies in the entire world.
