Person Of The Week

Who’s the most important Human in your life?

How do you let them know?

ABC Evening News with Diane Sawyer, on Fridays, honors a “Person Of The Week” at the end of the broadcast. Last night it was Garth Brooks, who’s sold more music than Michael Jackson. He’s doing 9 concerts in 6 days and donating all the money to the Tennessee flood victims.

Ever have something on your mind, for a long time, and then you are given a sign?

Feels good. Liberating. Joyful. Doesn’t it?

I’d like to honor my favorite human with a special Garth Brooks song. It leans on the sappy side, but it is…real life in real time. It’s also the first time I’ve heard this rendition:

Challenging Times Require Creative Solutions
Challenging Times Require Creative Solutions

Over at jungle jeff today, I posted about the latest bit of challenging news.

And you hear me, over and over, talk about how life is a daily grind.

Don’t get me wrong, there is joy, hope and goodness surrounding us. I get that. And am sustained by it.

Yet.

Yet the latest news says we better be prepared for stormy weather.

Been talking about that too.

Strength Is Your Responsibility

100 Years Old

“Strength is something you forge from within.”Eugenia ‘Jean’ Finnegan Biden

Watching (not really, more like listening) ABC Evening News a few weeks ago, Vice President Joe Biden spoke of fond memories and important lessons he learned from his mother.

She had died the day before.

Of all the things Vice President Joe Biden said, it’s his mother’s advice at the top here, that resonated the most.

Why?

Personal responsibility is really the key to success.  I’ve known this all my life and you have too.

Having a ten year plan has really helped me see what’s still possible, but not guaranteed.

Not six months.  Ten years.

PS. This is the first dupe post.  By accident. Seems it posted January 9 at Lane 8, but for some reason it also sat in jeffnoel.com   It is a major rule to not recycle content here.  I’m gonna let this one ride though.

Why?  Because one dupe post ain’t gonna end the world.  Besides, the endings are different, unbeknownst to me.

Top Three Reasons

Watching (not sure why) five minutes of ABC Evening News last night.  The story claimed there are 7 million more Americans at the poverty level than last estimated.

Why?

Apparently, it’s being fueled by unemployment.

I often question whether what I’m doing is the right thing.  Often wonder if this is the right time.

The answer?  There is no right time.  There is no guarantee of the right thing.

So what then?  Trust your intuition.  Which tells me to keep going.  Don’t give up.  Remember where you started and look at you now.  Imagine six more months from now.

Dude, you are going to make a difference.  You already are making a difference.  Yes, there are sacrifices.  Beats unemployment though, doesn’t it?
