Please forgive me for saying this out loud, but I like Orlando better than Hawaii.
Insanely thankful for where I live, in spite of the romantic allure of the Hawaiian Islands.
Bet it’s the same for most of you as well.

Jeff,
It goes back to that old saying: It’s nice place to visit, but there’s no place like home.” It is totally understood. Seeing something new and exciting on a road trip is cool, but being back home takes on a whole deeper meaning when you are away from it (especially for 12 days like you did).
Have a wonderful day!

Bob, the grass is greener on the other side is a myth. 🙂
Probably this doesn’t EXACTLY apply to your travels, Jeff, but it’s still a great quote that supports “there’s no place like home” —
“If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with! Is that right?”
The infinite wisdom of The Wizard of Oz…
Natalie, all of this echoes the wisdom of this: we already possess all we need. We need not search for it.
Editors note: because we are perfectly imperfect as humans, we don’t easily take a simple explanation as Gospel.
So we go looking. It may take years, decades, or a lifetime to realize we’ve been carry ing it in our heart the whole time.
