Six years ago (Spring 2009) was contemplating how to overcome three decades of excuses for not writing the book that was a solemn promise back in 1979.
And in this contemplative thought, a seriously absurd notion:
What if you challenged yourself to a 100-day, self-imposed writer’s bootcamp? All you have to do is write one blog a day for each of your five websites.
It was so utterly impossible that the challenge actually felt insanely compelling and motivating. Could the impossible actually be possible?

Woke up wondering that myself. Was challenged to take on a 110+ mile bike ride inclusive of two mountains.
Patty, talk to your knee before deciding. There is nothing wrong with saying yes, to 2016. Patience is strength. And health is wealth.
There is such a long training period for a goal this big… I will have plenty of time to listen to my knee. Even so, it is daunting and at the same time exhilarating.
These are the things (fuel) that keeps the motivational fire burning. Motivation is like a fire. It needs fuel, continuously.
There is also the training commitment. Making the time for longer rides in an already busy schedule. And riding longer alone.
Jeff,
I have several of these personal challenges I am contemplating now. Thanks for inspiring people (me included) to face the challenges head-on.

Patty, these are simply the stuff a healthy, vibrant life is made of. Embrace and rejoice in these ‘challenges’.
You’re welcome Bob.
Many people either forget, never realized, or hate to admit – there have been many slothful years in my life.
What i’m doing now is the result of practicing what i preach.
Do not fear going slowly. Fear not going at all.
