And by the way, deal with drought, floods, famine, disease, plagues, hostiles, lawlessness, wild animals, pillaging, and other unpredictables.

Bottom line message. Starting up is pretty brutal. No guarantees. Threats everywhere. But humongous dreams for a ‘better life’ and freedom from the status quo.
