Yesterday you heard an antagonistic claim that being organized and not being organized require the same effort.
They do. Whether you agree or disagree, riddle me this:
A life of reaction is a life of slavery, intellectually and spiritually. One must fight for a life of action, not reaction. – Rita Mae Brown
Physical labor and emotional labor both make you tired.
The difference is that one produces results. The other, worry.
No, seriously.

So true.
Yes, and I wish I would have started to focus on it more, about 30 years ago. 🙂
A life of reaction is a life full of stress because you are always at least one step behind.
The trick is to learn to anticipate and cause life to react to you….reduce that stress!
In football games where one team’s offense is eating up the clock the announcers talk about how long the defense has been on the field…even though the offense has been on the field the same amount of time.
What’s the difference? The defense is usually reacting to the offense which requires more physical and mental energy. The offense knows where they’re going…the defense doesn’t always know.
Great blog for thought.
Skip, great analogy.
And thanks.
