Don’t let the sun go down

unique mountain ridge formation
In a few minutes the stunning light fades. We drove from the East over Logan Pass. Literally 300 meters from the Pass this view suddenly becomes available. Our timing to see a setting Sun find a small opening to set this section on fire is humbling.

Never count on random people to transform your life. However, sometimes it happens. Enjoy the karma you project.

Meeting Steve and Stacy Wahlberg on the backside of Reynolds Mountain at 8,600′ is absolute randomness.

World-class randomness for sure.

We saw something in each other, without trying.

The Universe aligned us that cold, windy, yet brilliantly sunny morning.

We were the only three people on the mountain.

i was hiding from the harsh wind behind the lone boulder in the expansive scree field.

They were heading up for their 12th Reynolds summit, in honor of Stacy’s father, a true mountain man.

You know what never gets old?

Living in the present moment.

A few minutes ago, it dawned on me that the paperwork of life can frequently feel overwhelming because there’s so much to do.

You create a life, get married, start a career, buy a house, buy a bunch of stuff to make your house a home, perhaps raise some children, and as you approach and arrive at midlife, you start to question everything.

Back to that thought i had a few minutes ago, we habitually race through all the administrative and decision-making tasks. And i thought what if we could streamline life so that every task that we had to do and decision we had to make we could be fully present for it and enjoy it and appreciate it in a way that racing never reveals?

Drive to Airport, fly home, home

We immediately got to work on watering thirsty plants.
Crazy how you can be in two distant places on the same day.

What you fear becomes your limit.

In bed before 7:00 PM. It was the only way to combat the dropping temps. There is no heat.
