Joyful intensity

Thank you card arrived yesterday.

#Joyfulintensity

The note reads:

Jeff,

I wanted to take a minute, and write you a quick thank you. First off thank you for the phone call a few weeks ago. The energy you brought coupled with your enthusiasm is what created “#JoyfulIntensity“.

I have already coined the phrase at work, and it’s catching on. I also want to thank you for your wonderful book. You stirred up thoughts I have never had before. In a few pages you woke me up!

I appreciate your time by phone, text, or email. Your patience, kindness, and passion shines! I hope your success soars.

#JOYFULINTENSITY

What is your attitude about stuff?

Unbound Merino wool clothing. Wear for weeks without washing.

What is your attitude about stuff?

Less is more.

Lean is freedom.

Freedom is joy.

Clothing has long been a status symbol.

Being true to who you are without care for impressing others – there’s a status worth wearing.

Son, what a wonderway way to finish strong, on top of your stellar academic performance. Your self-driven and self-guided high School career has been exceptional. Your growth, transformational.

Your teachers guided and taught you. You did all the work to apply it.

Sure, it’s lofty (and simple)

Began reading (again) Life of Pi last night.

It would be great if most days we could:

  • Sit outside, doing nothing.
  • Read a few (10-30) minutes every night.
  • Play frisbee for a few minutes (7-15) most nights, before or after sitting doing nothing.
  • Play video games together 30 minutes most nights.

Son, if your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Few will believe it

Few will believe it.

What?

That Disney creativity doesn’t just fall from the sky.

Technology is simply a delivery method.

The idea still has to come from human creativity.

If your organization is not robustly creative before technology, odds are great that you won’t be after technology either.

It’s like getting a wonderful gym membership and new athletic shoes…if you aren’t motivated to transform, you’ll live the same inactive life you led before.

Son, understand the DNA of “why” and your what and how will take care of themselves.
