That whole slogan about “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”?

That whole slogan about “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”?

Has this ever really meant anything to you, or has it always remained some lame, sugary saying?

(semi-akward silence…)

Awakening December 31, 2001, the reality of what was about to happen was staggering (two previous, major attempts had failed).

That day was the first day of the rest of this life.

The first day as a person who no longer drinks alcohol. Period.

If ya do the math, the first day started on the hardest day – the world’s biggest party night – not the day after on January one.

Insane.

Hey, have a blast tonight.

And tomorrow, think about kickin’ somebody’s behind.

none of these describe this morning’s emotions

Many of us weigh ourselves each morning, or at least semi-frequently. It’s prudent. It can also provide some guidance (even reward) on how we should manage our meal choices for the day.

Can we look back and say we were happy? Did we love? Were we loved? That’s it.

The ugly truth about 2013 is the same hideous truth about 2012

each year, get a little better at doing things now, and not waiting

The ugly truth about 2013 is the same hideous truth about 2012. We get a chance an opportunity each year to deliver more and more personal integrity, or not.

I just keep telling myself, over and over and over:

Just do what you say you’re gonna do!

(Hey, you did it, again, congratulations on reading all five December 28th posts)

It may take a decade to cleanup the mess from a lifetime of wishing

This is literally the biggest book I’ve ever seen

It may take a decade to cleanup the mess from a lifetime of wishing. The wishing most of us do, for most of our lives, the collecting and storing things “for later”. For when things slow down and we can refocus our priorities and get ourselves in the life-alignment we always dream about.
