GNP Day 33, home

We’ve been here many times. Nice to be back.

The “Ritz Carlton” sits at 6,600′. We hiked four miles uphill to get here. Now, we are hiking another five miles roundtrip up to the fire tower. This is insane on Cheryl’s first day, coming from sea-level.
Video starts with a glimpse of a 1914 Hotel.
Pixar characters mark the year. The Chalet at the end marks our location.

One of only a few remaining Glaciers left in the Park.

On her first day coming from sea-level, Cheryl walked uphill 6.5 miles with 4,000′ elevation gain. Then she walked downhill 2.5 miles and 1,600′ elevation loss.

Few people, at any age, can handle this at altitude.

Ps. Downhill for some people is harder than uphill. Trust me, i’ve surveyed many hikers.
