We don’t know how to parent technology

A plastic spork and some play dough created a lead Disney/Pixar character in a brilliant CGI (computer generated images).

First generation of parents of digital natives.

Both generational parties will have recovery and opportunity.

In person relationships, self-confidence, and risk taking are the leading adult characteristics being disrupted in digital natives growth cycle.

Simultaneously, digital natives have learned how to communicate through space and time and this makes them pioneers.

What remains to be seen is how challenges will become opportunities and how opportunities will become game changers for humanity.

The key to life

Disney Keynote Speakers
Last night at Publix check out, a timely visual reminder. Habits and rituals make us and break us.

The key to life?

 Habits and rituals.

Prune the unproductive habits and rituals from your life, for the remainder of your life.

Did you do DU?

Ben Myatt
On the way home from lunch.

Florida living
It’s 5:30am as i write this…12 hours ago, downstairs.

We didn’t do Jungle Cruise…95-minute wait.

But we did do lunch at Skipper Canteen.

Did you do DU?

We stopped by as we drove home, but the doors lock after 5pm on a Saturday.

Here’s to hoping (and i have a great feeling) Thinking Heads becomes my exclusive booking agent.

Waterton Park
It looked different as we left to drive back to Glacier.

Detour on a scenic route before heading south.

For posterity.

Waterton Park
No place like “home” (USA).

Chief Mountain
Chief Mountain’s character changes with the sky.

St Mary Lake
St Mary Lake changes with the sky too.

Light adds something special.

Glacier Bear spotting
This is what it looks like just before the bear’s head becomes visible.

Two Dog Flats
i can’t make up a name like this.

The return to dinner at Rising Sun was followed by an early evening drive to Two Dog Flats to look for a bear.

We got lucky almost immediately.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Being organized sometimes requires luck

Being organized sometimes requires luck.

Two-plus hours at the Dentist instead on one hour. No worries, we walked out with the latest in braces technology, Invisalign.

Come home, eat brunch, notice pool waterfall isn’t on. Check pool pump to discover after four years, it’s not working. Ok, so it’s 11am Friday. We leave in 24 hours for a writer’s retreat.

What are the odds of getting a replacement pool pump (with zero notice) the day before leaving home for a week?

Without an immediate (see day) fix this time of year, a week without circulation and we’ll return to an algae pond.

Stakes are high.

Darren was out to the house and done in less than two hours.
