Next move, by whom?

Let the research begin. Told Chuck that i didn’t want to invest time on research if he and i could come to a usual and customary understanding. We did not.

Chuck believes his Church has a bigger mission than any residential community has.

Next move, by whom?

And this is for both the wonderful opportunity, and the chronic residential code-violation challenge: no one in our subdivision would get away with their level of noise pollution.

Optimistic for a mutually kind and generous solution.

The future is exciting because i’m creating new rules

Business notes
The future is exciting because i’m creating new rules. This photo is from a year or so ago. Dusting it off for 2019.

The future (specifically 2019) is exciting because i’m creating new rules.

  • First, you are in charge of your own rules.
  • Second rule is to shun conventional thinking.
  • Third rule is to do stuff i’ve never done before.

Finally thought, a year from now you’ll wish you had started today.

What are you thinking about today that’s 60 days from today?

school project in kitchen
The other night working on a school project that isn’t due for a couple more days.

What are you thinking about today that’s 60 days from today?

Well, to be exact, 62 days from now is Christmas morning.

Writing two months in advance inspires me.

Can you inspire yourself?

Be organized with life’s five big choices and you will astonish yourself.

But you must be organized.

PS. You may still astonish yourself if you aren’t organized but it will revolve around how disorganized you are.

It’s the age-old tale of consequences: reaping what you sow.

The time to worry about it is when you don’t need to

Christmas Music
Started to listen to Christmas Music yesterday, prompted by an email from Apple Music. Yesterday, used bluetooth to connect to a small Bose speaker. Right now, just using the phone as it sits on the desk next to this laptop,

One of the guiding visions i use to motivate me to reduce, reuse, and recycle is the vision of moving into an assisted-living facility, and having a one-bedroom efficiency apartment.

Part two of that vision is moving to a nursing home room with two beds, one for me and one for my roommate. We’ll each get half a room for all our stuff.

It inspires me to be intentional now.

And in the process, be a role model for our teenager and my wife.

Dear Future me

iPhone 7 receipt
Purchased the new iPhone 7 and 7-Plus a few hours ago (Sept 9, 2016). The Cloud is a great place to store “stuff”.

Dear Future me,

You will eventually discover that your material possessions aren’t meant for you, they’re meant for the people who follow behind you.

Do your best to cultivate your “material story” in a way that serves as a roadmap for living a life of peace and contentment. Great roadmaps, from actual journeys (not theory nor rhetoric) are rare.

A treasure.

A gift.

Oxygen.
