The insidious thing that our stuff does to us until its too late

Lots to organize, and it never stops coming

The insidious thing our stuff does to us until its too late.

Distracts us.

From our art.

From the thing we get the most joy doing, but rarely, if ever, get to do anymore.

I’m determined to keep shedding and refining the storage of things.

There can be no stopping. It comes in faster than I can keep up.

What would happen if we stopped holding back so much?

amazing grace

What would happen if we stopped holding back so much?

We’d probably anger some and inspire some. But at the end of the day, compared to who we normally are…

We’d be flipping amazing!

Two things that are just sickening when you think about them

Buca di Beppo Italian restaurant interior

Buca di Beppo Italian restaurants have a unique character that’s fun to explore

Infant flipping the middle finger to photographer

As funny as it is sickening, no?

Two things that are just sickening when you think about them:

  1. how challenging it is to stay organized without being compulsive
  2. how many motivational speakers are out there with compelling theories

What do we do?

What’s the point?

jeff noel professional speaker before the gig

Blogging in bed, on the road, in a jet, on a phone

Don’t quit can’t just be a slogan.

Do it better than or differently than everyone else can’t just be a slogan.

Make a promise to keep it, to not quit – on living up to our word (like most of us do).

Do what you say you’re gonna do.

That’s the point.

Do what you say you’re gonna do…

Good night.

Note to self: Remember, you never (started out) trying to do anything more than break through the pain of wishful thinking. To begin writing in a more consistent manner. To leave a trial for a young boy (your Son).

Awaken, pray, read, write, run, eat, dress, work, play, sleep

Why is being decently organized so critical to midlife thriving? Because there’s a lot to get done each and every day…

Awaken, pray, read, write, run, eat, dress, work, play, sleep.

And then there’s a ton of unexpected things. Always.

How to be organized enough to handle an 80-hour week workload

busy confusion

sometimes it’s hard to tell what the heck is going on (in our lives)

How to be organized enough to handle an 80-hour week workload? Sometimes we handle what’s in front of us and don’t think twice about how we managed it.

Other times, we look in the rearview mirror and ask ourselves, “How the hell heck did I survive last week”.

He asked if I was on vacation, because the weeds were so high

weeds overtaking the landscape

In the nine years Julio has been our pest control guru with his monthly preventative treatment visits, he’s never seen the weeds so high. Ever. Me neither. Being organized and balanced is really challenging. And once something gets out of control, it’s even more demotivating, making a bad situation worse.
